Job description

Facilities Lead

Nashville, TN

Full-time

In office

OPERATIONS, Facilities

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

We’re looking for a Facilities Lead to take ownership of daily operations, maintenance, and improvements across our tunneling jobsite infrastructure. This role is boots-on-the-ground - part builder, part problem-solver - responsible for keeping critical site systems online and supporting a fast-paced tunneling environment. You’ll lead a small team to manage power, water, lighting, ventilation, yard organization, and general upkeep of both surface facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Own daily upkeep and troubleshooting of facilities infrastructure including lighting, ventilation, electrical drops, water delivery, drainage, and general utilities
  • Manage vendor and contractors to execute routine maintenance and unplanned repairs
  • Build and maintain temporary site infrastructure to support tunneling progress (e.g., staging areas, workshops, break areas, hose routing)
  • Coordinate with TBM operations, EHS, and logistics teams to support production while keeping facilities safe and functional
  • Monitor site cleanliness, layout efficiency, and infrastructure reliability - proactively fixing issues before they become blockers
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in construction site maintenance, facilities operations, or industrial infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and utility systems
  • Ability to read site plans, schematics, and work orders and execute with minimal supervision
  • Experience leading crews or coordinating with multiple teams on active job sites
  • Comfortable working outdoors and underground in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Forklift and telehandler experience a plus
Culture

We're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people. Our employees are passionate about our mission and determined to innovate at every opportunity.

Benefits
  • We offer employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, paid holidays, paid vacation, and a competitive amount of equity for all permanent employees.
