Title: RN - Operating Room (OR RN)
Location: Rochester
State: New York
Duration: 13 Weeks (Temp to Permanent)
Schedule: Day Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity surgical environment. The RN will assist in surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, gynecologic, thoracic, urology, and minimally invasive robotic procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong perioperative skills, the ability to work in complex surgical cases, and competency in maintaining sterile technique and patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide circulating and scrub support during surgical procedures
  • Prepare operating room environment, instruments, and equipment for surgeries
  • Assist surgeons across a wide range of procedures including orthopedic, vascular, neuro, GYN, urology, and general surgery cases
  • Ensure strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards
  • Perform patient positioning, safety checks, and surgical counts
  • Assist with anesthesia preparation and intraoperative monitoring support
  • Manage specimens according to hospital protocols
  • Respond to intraoperative emergencies, including code situations
  • Ensure compliance with Universal Protocol and surgical safety checklists
  • Document intraoperative nursing care in Epic system

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
  • Strong experience in multi-specialty OR including ortho, neuro, vascular, GYN, urology, and thoracic preferred
  • Experience with robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi system) preferred
  • Must be competent in IV insertion and phlebotomy
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to function in high-acuity surgical settings
  • First-time travelers will not be considered

Education Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
  • ASN or BSN required

Certifications & Licensure:
  • Active New York RN License required (no pending licenses accepted)
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
