As part of the VC&M team, the Software Engineer is responsible for building resilient and scalable solutions in Java and cloud-native environments and adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
  • Coding, testing, and deployment of critical features for Connected Consumer and Vehicle applications, ensuring consistency, optimization, resilience, and security.
  • Utilize Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, TDD, and other agile principles (e.g., Jira) throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in software craftsmanship, ensuring solutions are well-documented, maintainable, and adhere to high coding standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, automate delivery processes, and continuously improve efficiency to eliminate waste and facilitate rapid, reliable feature releases.
  • Architect and Design comprehensive API load-testing strategies and spearhead threat-modeling initiatives in collaboration with security teams to ensure robust, high-performance systems.
  • Proven experience designing and operating cloud-native systems (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
  • Strong experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL/SQL) and NoSQL databases (Mongo), data modeling, transactional integrity, and performance tuning.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 3 + years of experience building applications in microservice product architecture
  • 3+ years' expertise in core technologies, including Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Junit, Google Cloud Platform, RESTful APIs.
  • 3+ years' experience with MongoDB, relational databases and NoSQL solutions
  • 3+ years' of solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation in a GitHub-based development workflow
  • 3+ years of efficiency with canary deployments, and API related technologies such as JSON, REST, Swagger and Hoppscotch.
  • 3+ years of knowledge with Continuous Delivery process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (preferably GitHub, Terraform, Tekton, etc.).
  • 3+ years generating metrics, perform user access authorization, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
