Who are we? Parks and Recreation (DPR) is a Department of Prince William County (PWC). We provide a broad range of recreation and leisure services and amenities to meet the changing needs of the County's growing and diverse population. The Department manages more than 4,000 acres of parkland and recreational facilities including more than 50 parks, two water parks, two fitness & aquatic centers, two community centers, four outdoor pools, three 18-hole golf courses, two marinas, nearly 200 athletic fields, 15 historic sites, and over 50 miles of trails, green-ways and blue-ways.

About This Role:
DPR is looking for a maintenance professional who is excited about performing general maintenance and eager to work in a full-time capacity. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience. Our team works on a broad variety of interesting tasks, from county buildings to playgrounds, shelters, decking etc.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related building maintenance experience
Preferences:
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing utilities in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, mechanical or electrical systems and maintenance of County buildings.
  • Experience performing general building maintenance in commercial, residential, and/or historic facilities
  • Experience in other trades- such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, gas, and building maintenance
  • Experience using computers and a computerized maintenance management system
  • Experience using a Work Order software
  • Experience creating and completing work orders
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience performing a variety of construction-related tasks
  • Customer service skills
  • Time management skills

Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
DPR conducts DMV records checks on all licensed employees and criminal background checks on all hires aged 18 years and older. Fingerprinting may be required.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday- 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Maintenance operations are located at Locust Shade in Triangle, Virginia
Rotating On-Call Schedule (varies). Flexible work schedule.
Hiring Salary Range:
$30.86 - $36.31/hr.
