Franklin Canyon Golf Course, located among gently rolling hillsides, mature oaks, and majestic gum trees just north of San Francisco in Hercules, California, provides an outstanding test for golfers of all skill levels. The 6,594-yard championship course designed by legendary golf course architect Robert Muir Graves features many fun and challenging holes highlighted by two ponds, several tight doglegs, and large undulating greens that encourage precise tee shots to keep your score low and test your golf skills. Each hole at Franklin Canyon Golf Course is truly unique and refreshing. At Franklin Canyon Golf Course, we exceed our guests' expectations through our attention to detail, outstanding course and clubhouse conditions, and professional service.
Position Summary:
The Pro Shop Attendant at Franklin Canyon Golf Course provides excellent customer service to golfers and guests while supporting daily pro shop operations. This highly guest-facing role serves as one of the first points of contact for players, assisting with check-in, tee times, merchandise sales, and general course information. Responsibilities include operating point-of-sale systems, handling cash and credit transactions, maintaining an organized and welcoming pro shop environment, and assisting with tournaments, leagues, and special events as needed. Pro Shop Attendants are expected to represent the course in a professional and friendly manner and complete additional duties as assigned to support smooth golf operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for activities and functions relating to golf operations including; starting functions, taking reservations, collecting greens fees, golf cart rental.
  • Opens and closes the Pro Shop including following procedures for opening and closing the cash register.
  • Answer the phone and make reservations for customers and members.
  • Greet and direct all visitors.
  • Inform players of course conditions and cart ruling for the day.
  • Responsible for running efficient first tee by keeping a group on the tee, a group on deck and a group in the hole. Pair groups to keep a foursome on the tee.
  • Effectively manage the tee sheet
  • Promote products to members and guests.
  • Assists with inventory.
  • Use cash register to collect golf fees and make retail merchandise sales.
  • Maintain a neat and clean Pro Shop. This includes; dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash cans and stocking merchandise.

Physical Demands:
  • Stand and walk for most of the shift while assisting guests and maintaining the shop
  • Lift, carry, and stock merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Bend, reach, and handle products or supplies at various shelf heights
  • Operate POS systems and handle cash/credit transactions safely
  • Work in a guest-facing environment, requiring consistent attention and energy

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a hospitality-focused mindset
  • Ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems accurately
  • Basic knowledge of golf or willingness to learn course operations, rules, and terminology
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed
