Job Description

CNBC Cures is building a dynamic, mission-driven community focused on the Rare Disease ecosystem—connecting patients, families, advocates, biotech leaders, investors, and policymakers. We are seeking a strategic and empathetic community leader to serve as the frontline ambassador for the franchise, helping cultivate meaningful relationships, strengthen brand presence, and drive measurable impact across platforms and events

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the frontline funnel for all CNBC Cures inbound inquiries, applying critical thinking and sound judgment to route opportunities appropriately to editorial, sales, PR, or other internal stakeholders.
  • Engage directly with Rare Disease families, patients, and advocates with compassion and professionalism—quickly identifying strong opportunities while respectfully responding to those that are not aligned with Cures’ mission or needs.
  • Lead external relationship management for CNBC Cures in close partnership with the communications team, curating a high-quality experience for the Cures community and identifying, cultivating, and empowering ambassadors and champions.
  • Represent CNBC Cures at franchise events and select external Rare Disease community gatherings where CNBC’s presence can meaningfully build awareness and deepen relationships.
  • Produce and publish daily social content to sustain engagement, grow audience connection, and reinforce Cures’ editorial and mission-driven priorities.
  • Measure and track the quality, growth, and impact of the CNBC Cures community, delivering regular reports with actionable insights and recommendations.

Please note: This role is a 2-year temporary staff position with an end date.

Salary Range: $90,000- $115,000 (bonus eligible)

Qualifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage comfortably and credibly with a wide range of stakeholders—from rare disease pediatric patients and their families to CEOs of multibillion-dollar corporations.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to write and edit accurately in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Previous experience or demonstrated interest in social media writing, producing, editing, and cross-platform strategy.
  • 5 years experience
