Pattern Maker / Sample Engineer - Apparel Standards Team

About the Role
The Apparel Standards team within a global product creation organization is seeking an experienced Pattern Maker / Sample Engineer to support upcoming high-priority 2026 development initiatives. This role is highly hands-on and sits at the intersection of technical design, product development, and physical sample creation.
You will be responsible for transforming design intent into functional apparel through expert pattern making, garment construction, and iterative sample development in a studio environment.
What You'll Do
  • Develop, engineer, and refine advanced apparel patterns based on design specifications
  • Cut, sew, and assemble garment samples in a hands-on studio setting
  • Translate creative concepts into accurate, production-ready patterns
  • Collaborate closely with designers and technical developers to iterate on fit and construction
  • Participate in fit sessions and adjust patterns based on feedback
  • Support end-to-end sample development from concept through final validation
  • Maintain quality, precision, and consistency across multiple active projects
What You Bring
  • 5-10 years of advanced pattern making experience in the apparel industry
  • Strong hands-on sewing and garment construction skills (must be comfortable operating sewing and embroidery machines)
  • Deep expertise in flat pattern making, garment construction, and technical apparel development
  • Proficiency with Optitex or similar CAD tools (Gerber, CLO, Browzwear acceptable)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for technical flats and pattern development
  • Experience supporting full product development lifecycle (concept → sample → refinement)
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to interpret design intent into technical execution
  • Ability to manage multiple samples and priorities in a fast-paced studio environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in apparel product creation, technical design, or innovation studio environments
  • Familiarity with fit sessions, SOPs, and iterative apparel development workflows
