Location & Work Schedule: These roles offer a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) and we are considering candidates based in
the following locations:
Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH with a preference towards Portsmouth and Indianapolis.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong full stack development experience and deep familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native engineering practices. This role will design, build, test, deploy, and support modern digital and service-based solutions that improve claims experiences for customers, adjusters, and internal partners.
You'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from user-facing applications to backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production support. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving complex business and technical challenges, and wants to help modernize claims technology through full stack development and cloud-native engineering.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own medium-to-large features and services end-to-end, helping modernize and evolve our claims technology ecosystem.
Core Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full stack software solutions in an Agile product team
  • Build modern web applications and backend services that support claims experiences and operational workflows
  • Develop scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations using Java / Spring Boot and cloud-native patterns
  • Build and maintain responsive frontend applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Design and implement AWS-based solutions using services such as:
    • Lambda
    • API Gateway
    • S3
    • RDS / DynamoDB
    • SQS / SNS
    • Step Functions
    • CloudWatch
    • IAM
    • ECS / EKS or other container-based runtime platforms
  • Create and maintain secure APIs and integrations aligned with enterprise standards
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns leveraging enterprise identity solutions
  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot data models and application data flows across relational and cloud-native data stores
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues; improve system reliability, resilience, and performance
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related automation, testing, and quality tooling
  • Improve observability using tools such as Datadog and Splunk, including dashboards, alerting, metrics, logs, and tracing
  • Participate in discovery, estimation, technical design, story writing, and documentation
  • Contribute to engineering best practices across code quality, testing, automation, and operational readiness
  • Mentor engineers and help elevate team standards and execution
What we're looking for
  • Owns medium-to-large features end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing strategy, and production readiness.
  • Leads troubleshooting and performance tuning (application and database).

  • Partners with product, architecture, and security stakeholders; makes and communicates trade-offs clearly.
  • Mentors team members and ensures High-Performing Engineering standards are chosen and monitored with the team
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, testing, debugging, and design.
  • Experience integrating systems via APIs and working with enterprise standards (security, logging, monitoring).
  • Ability to work in Agile teams using modern delivery practices (iteration, experimentation, continuous improvement).
  • Effective communication and collaboration; able to document and explain technical decisions.
  • Experience and openness to utilizing AI Software Development Tools (GitHub Actions Copilot etc.)

  • Experience working in enterprise environments with security, monitoring, and reliability standards
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices

  • Experience or openness to using AI-assisted software development tools
