About the Role:
As a Human Resources Manager, you will provided strategic and tactical Human Resources support for the assigned plant. Support plant management in implementing established Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices to support business needs. Manage HR policies and procedures, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, benefits open enrollment support, employee data integrity, recognition plans, and health and security programs, among other areas. Ensure compliance of the organization's practices with applicable employment legislation, including Indiana specific laws. Partner with Managers to identify Human Resources issues/problems and provides counsel and support in finding solutions. Manages, motivates and assesses performance of plant staff. Collaborate with Corporate HR (Organization & People Development) to align policies and procedures at the plant environment. This position functionally reports to the Director, Human Resources, Operations.
Responsibilities
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to plant leadership and works collaboratively to be a thought partner surrounding people and processes.
  • Manages HR services to ensure that highly qualified employees are recruited, developed and motivated to achieve business objectives.
  • Designs, proposes and implements HR strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the organization, supporting short- and long-term business needs.
  • Oversees Plant HR operations and supports Knauf Insulation North America policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Union officials and committee members and works within contract guidelines.
  • Develops guidelines and procedures which assist Line Management in implementing HR policy on plant level.
  • Ensures compliance of the organization's practices with applicable employment legislation. Provides counsel to managers and ensures uniform interpretation of employment laws. Secures professional legal support from internal or external legal counsel as required.
  • Works with managers to identify Human Resources issues/problems and provides leadership and support in finding solutions. May recommend appropriate measures such as training, reassignment, transfer or out-placement.
  • Implements the performance planning and development process for employees.
  • Develops and manages the plant orientation program.
  • Conducts investigations; maintains records; represents Knauf at hearings.
  • Manages third-party vendors as appropriate, including temporary agencies.
  • Supports timely and accurate payroll processing and maintains all HR records.
  • Assists in the articulation and leading of the values and culture of the organization and proposes HR management activities which support the organization's culture.
  • Leads workforce planning efforts and local community outreach.
  • Supports health, safety and well-being initiatives.
  • Manages Worker's Compensation process at assigned plant level.
  • Conducts accident investigations on site, causation analysis and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, as required.
  • Drives the highest level of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
  • Instills an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the field of Human Resources, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a unionized workforce preferred
  • Must have experience with Indiana State Laws
