Job description

Title: Process Engineering Specialist
Location: Oxford, MS

Salary: $103,300 and up depending on experience
Schedule: On-site daily

Focus: The Process Engineering Specialist is responsible for process development, compliance initiatives, troubleshooting support, and data analysis as it relates to customer complaints and manufacturing operations.  

Process Engineering Specialist Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide support to the Product/Process Engineering team for Centerfire and Rimfire small caliber ammunition manufacturing.
  • Primary lead for investigations and resolutions of customer complaints.  
  • Develop, define, and document manufacturing processes, tooling and gaging following DMAIC methodology.
  • Work with cross-functional groups to define and complete testing to support process changes. 
  • Actively participate in and lead group activities to support continuous improvements including, but not limited to, design, test, and evaluation of alternative materials, components, and methods to improve efficiency, performance, and reduce costs.
  • Work directly with production and quality department personnel to troubleshoot, find the root cause, and implement corrective actions. 
Process Engineering Specialist Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree*, Technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years full-time manufacturing experience in a related technical role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts. 
  • Ability and willingness to provide technical support for manufacturing processes for 24/5 operations, including weekends.  
  • Prior Winchester experience in a similar role preferred.


Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
