Description
This position is responsible for the sustained development of new hair care and styling products or modifications of existing ones with minimal supervision. This role independently accomplishes technical results on projects of different degrees of complexity and ensures the timely completion of product development activities using technical knowledge to analyze and review results.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop commercially feasible hair care products (both new and reformulated).
  • Provide constructive contributions to product formulation process.
  • Design and conduct experiments requiring the selection of equipment and materials for the delivery of the project.
  • Determine stability of the formulation and ensure commercial feasibility.
  • Follow projects from prototype development through manufacturing.
  • Contribute to establishment of manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure testing to guarantee a marketable final product is on schedule.
  • Precisely measure product characteristics and make timely recordings of the results.
  • Establish standards and submit technical direction summaries to lab management for review.
  • Inform laboratory management and key project members on progress of process.
  • Identify technical learnings, issues and solutions for projects, provide suggestions on experiments and technicalities.
  • Train, direct and oversee the work of technicians, temporary staff and Associate Scientists regarding laboratory procedures.
  • Assist in resolving product or process problems.
  • Stay informed regarding developing trends in the Cosmetic field and competitive information, build depth of understanding and share new approaches with the team.
  • Interface with all R&D departments, OA, Technical Services, Manufacturing and NY Products Department.

Qualifications
  • University Degree (BA or BS) in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
  • At least 2 years' experience in Formulation lab
  • Proficient in Excel, RDS & SAP, GMP and OTC protocol

Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $69,700.00 to $76,000.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
