Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Sell-Side Equity Research Analyst to join our research team covering publicly traded companies within the Healthcare, Technology, and/or Consumer sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling skills, capital markets knowledge, and the ability to produce differentiated investment research for institutional investor clients.

This role requires a professional who can independently conduct fundamental analysis, develop investment theses, communicate effectively with institutional clients, and contribute to the growth and visibility of the firm’s research platform.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and publish differentiated equity research on publicly traded companies and private securities.
  • Produce high-quality research reports, earnings previews and reviews, industry updates, company initiations, and thematic publications for institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds, and other market participants.
  • Generate timely investment recommendations and actionable market insights for the Odeon’s Sales and Trading teams to support client engagement and revenue generation.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models, including operating forecasts, valuation analyses, sensitivity scenarios, and comparable company assessments.
  • Analyze financial statements, business fundamentals, capital structures, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and macroeconomic trends impacting covered companies.
  • Conduct channel checks, due diligence, and independent research to identify investment opportunities and risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporate management teams, institutional investors, industry experts, and other market participants to enhance research quality and market intelligence.
  • Attend industry conferences, earnings calls, investor meetings, and company events to gather insights and strengthen sector expertise.
  • Contribute to the growth and visibility of Odeon through white papers, sector outlooks, client presentations, and marketing initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in equity research, preferably in a sell-side publishing analyst role.
  • Sector expertise or demonstrated interest in Healthcare, Technology, and/or Consumer industries preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, and/or other financial research tools.
  • Active FINRA licenses including SIE, Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 or willingness to obtain prior to hire.

Odeon Capital Group provides a total compensation package which may include a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and/or a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $150,000 to $200,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The final base salary amount that is offered to any candidate, in any location, will be determined on several factors, which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education, and/or regulatory licenses.
