Assistant Arena Footing Manager
Reports to: Director of Equestrian Operations Classification: Exempt
Job Type: Full Time
Location: World Equestrian Center Ocala Date: 05.01.2025
The Assistant Arena Footing Manager supports the Arena Footing Manager in the preparation, maintenance, and quality control of all arena footing surfaces across the facility. This role assists in overseeing daily operations involving footing crews, tractors, water trucks, and related equipment to ensure all arenas meet performance, safety, and presentation standards for equestrian events.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in supervising footing crews assigned to arena maintenance and preparation

Support the operation and oversight of tractors, drags, water trucks, and other specialized equipment

Help maintain consistent footing quality across all arenas, including moisture content, depth, and compaction

Assist with coordinating daily schedules for dragging, watering, and grooming arenas based on event requirements

Monitor arena conditions before, during, and after events to ensure optimal performance and safety

Train and support staff on proper equipment use, footing techniques, and safety procedures

Identify footing issues and assist in implementing corrective actions quickly and effectively

Coordinate with Event Management, Ring Crew, and other departments to meet scheduling demands

Ensure equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and stored in coordination with the manager

Track labor, equipment usage, and supply needs (water, sand, additives, etc.)

Assist in arena conversions and large-scale footing projects as needed

Step in to lead footing operations in the absence of the Arena Footing Manager

• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions, including extended periods of
sitting, standing, or operating machinery
