Job Description

The Engineering Technician supports the development and optimization of manufacturing methods and processes across multiple product lines, with a strong focus on electronic assemblies. This role keeps production teams current on engineering changes and new product releases, and provides hands-on support for production, engineering, prototyping, testing, and cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and improvement of manufacturing methods and processes for various electronic product lines.
  • Keep production teams up to date on engineering changes and new product releases, ensuring accurate and timely implementation on the production floor.
  • Provide day-to-day production support by troubleshooting electronic assemblies and resolving issues that impact quality, performance, or throughput.
  • Assist engineering teams with design support, including building and testing prototypes and providing feedback on manufacturability and performance.
  • Build and assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related electronic assemblies according to schematics, bills of material, and documentation.
  • Use test equipment, including multimeters and other electronic measurement tools, to verify functionality, diagnose faults, and validate design changes.
  • Perform wiring and mechanical assembly tasks to support prototype builds, test fixtures, and production units.
  • Create, review, and maintain engineering and production documentation, including schematics, bills of material, and test records.
  • Support implementation of cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities in materials, processes, and test methods.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth introduction of new products and engineering changes.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with electronics troubleshooting, including the ability to diagnose and resolve issues at the board and system level.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics and related technical documentation.
  • Experience with PCB building and electronic assembly, including component placement, soldering, and inspection.
  • Ability to work with bills of material (BOMs) to ensure accurate component selection and assembly.
  • Skilled in using multimeters and other basic electronic test equipment for measurement, verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, engineering test activities, and production testing.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly and wiring tasks in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to follow, update, and maintain technical and production records.
  • Associate’s degree in an engineering-related field.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
