Job description

Work Schedule:

60% FTE, 12-hour evening/night shift 7:00 pm - 7:00 am with a two in six weekend rotation. Holiday rotation required. You will work 100% on-site at 8501 Excelsior Dr in Madison, WI. 

Pay:

Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening, $5/hour night and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked.

The eICU at Wisconsin's top-ranked hospital is growing and we are seeking experienced critical care RNs to join our dedicated nursing team - one that has a combined average of 20 years of ICU experience! This is your opportunity to use your expertise in a cutting-edge environment that advances care, elevates practice, and virtually supports nurses providing care to critically ill adult patients on 15 different units at 13 hospitals across Wisconsin and Illinois.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the eICU, you will: 

  • Provide virtual support from our in-person command center in Madison to critically ill adult patients both internally and regionally - allowing patients to stay in their home hospitals while still being able to receive the higher level of care that UW Health delivers.
  • Be a champion of proactive care and round on an average of 35-40 patients per shift, assist with admissions, and rapidly respond to changing patient conditions through advanced e-care monitoring technology.
  • Work onsite alongside a motivated team of professionals that includes fellow RNs, nursing assistants and a board certified intensivist each shift providing support to patients with acute illnesses as well as management of chronic conditions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change while also collaboratively mentoring RNs at regional sites through the mentorship program.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience
  • eICU: Two (2) years of nursing experience Required
  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required
  • Relevant certification Preferred
