Registered Nurse (Med/Surg & EICU) – Key Requirements Summary

🏥 Position Overview

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to Medical-Surgical and EICU patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient care. The RN must be able to adapt to changing patient conditions, unit needs, and daily assignments while ensuring safe, high-quality care.

✅ Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • BSN preferred
  • Active Wisconsin RN License
  • BLS Certification (required upon hire or within 1 month)
  • ACLS Certification (required within 6 months of hire)
  • PALS encouraged
🩺 Core Clinical Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments
  • Develop and update individualized care plans
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy
  • Monitor and document patient conditions using EMR
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient status
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Follow physician orders and ensure timely completion
  • Assist with procedures as needed
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards
