Substitute Employment Opportunity

***This posting is intended for substitute employment only*** As a substitute employee, you are an "At-Will" employee. This means that your employment is temporary, intermittent or sporadic and does not provide an avenue to permanent employment. If you wish to be considered for a permanent position, you must apply during a current, permanent position job opening on EdJoin. There will be mandatory testing for this position.

Requirements / Qualifications

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, EVERYTHING LISTED BELOW IS REQUIRED TO APPLY: REQUIRED ON APPLICATION: 1. Completed Edjoin Application (ALL fields filled) - incomplete applications will automatically be screened out 2. High School Diploma or equivalent 3. Minimum two (2) years of experience working with students with special needs (MUST show on application in Employment History) 4. Contact Information for three (3) Professional References (MUST be provided on application in Professional References section)- please include email addresses REQUIRED TO BE UPLOADED IN ATTACHMENTS: 1. Current Resume 2. Letter of Introduction Describing Experience Working with Students with Special Needs 3. Current DMV printout - can be obtained on DMV website (MUST be no greater than 30 days old) - please see link under "Links Related to This Job" for CA DMV Printout website 4. Two (2) Professional Letters of Recommendation from current/former supervisors/coworkers (both MUST have physical/wet signature and be DATED within one year) - digital signatures only accepted with attached digital certificate/final audit report. 5. Valid ADULT/PEDIATRIC First Aid and CPR Certification required: NO online courses; NO BLS (basic life support) cards, MUST include Pediatric (Child) training* *can upload proof of registration in an upcoming, in-person CPR/First Aid class in lieu of card 6. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or equivalent training/experience in behavior principles (e.g., 40-hour behavior training). Preferred Qualifications: 1. Associates Degree preferred 2. Supplemental coursework or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or behavior modification techniques highly desirable. 3. Copies of transcripts, if applicable. REQUIRED UPON HIRE - PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD WITH APPLICATION 1. Valid CA Drivers License 2. Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training (within 6 months of hire).

  • Certification (as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or equivalent training/experience in behavior principles (e.g., 40-hour behavior training).
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (NO ONLINE COURSES; NO BLS CARDS; MUST INCLUDE PEDIATRIC TRAINING)
  • DMV Printout (MUST be within last 30 days - must have VALID CA Drivers License)
  • Letter of Introduction (Describing Experience Working with Students with Special Needs)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Professional Letters: Signed & dated - both must be dated within one (1) year and have a physical signature or a digital signature with attached certificate)
  • Resume (MUST be current)
