Job Description
JOB DETAILS
  • Practice Setting: Hospital-based OR with 20+ operating rooms and 3 DaVinci robots (Level II Trauma Center)
  • Reason for Coverage: Locum support for the General Surgery department
  • Dates of Coverage: Immediate start through December 31, 2025 (option to remain credentialed PRN afterward)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (approx. 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., flexible start/end times), 40 hours per week
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-120 days (TEMPS APPROVED)
  • Travel: Local candidates preferred; hotel and mileage reimbursed if approved
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases (GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics)
  • Placement of ports and closure of port sites
  • Occasional assistance in non-robotic cases as needed
  • Occasional discharges/depart documentation and outpatient prescriptions
TEAM & ENVIRONMENT
  • Surgeon and residents present in all cases (senior residents typically at console; junior residents bedside)
  • Support from scrub techs and circulating nurses
  • 30+ surgeons credentialed on the robotic platform
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • Board Certification: NCCPA - Required
  • State License: Active Michigan license - Required (will not accept providers needing to obtain)
  • Certifications: BLS & ACLS through AHA - Required
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years with robotic bedside first-assist experience in GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics - Required
  • EMR Experience: Cerner - Preferred
