InstroTek, Inc. is a leader in innovative products and technology for the construction materials testing industry. Our equipment is trusted around the world to accurately and reliably measure and test construction materials.
As our company continues to grow, we're looking for a Seasonal Technician to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan team starting in December. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to gain valuable experience in a technical environment.
What You'll Do
As a Technician, you'll play an important role in preparing, processing, and maintaining testing equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Packing parts, components, and testing equipment for shipment
  • Interacting with customers via phone and in person when receiving test equipment
  • Processing equipment into our ERA system with detailed tracking
  • Cleaning and labeling Type A shipping cases according to DOT specifications
  • Disassembling nuclear density gauges down to the component level
  • Cleaning nuclear density gauges using hand tools and solvents
  • Reading, checking, and verifying equipment numbers and records
  • Following written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Managing multiple tasks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines

Requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with their hands. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent punctuality and time-management skills
  • The ability to multitask and stay organized
  • The ability to receive, process, and track testing equipment
  • Comfort reading and verifying numbers and identifying information
  • Experience using common hand tools
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be able to:
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or controls
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch
  • Communicate effectively in person and by telephone
