Be Part of What's Next
Step into an established East Coast territory and make an immediate impact. Hearst Magazines is seeking an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven Temporary Territory Sales Representative to seamlessly manage existing business while uncovering new opportunities across performance footwear, outdoor, health, and fitness accounts.
This temporary position is expected to run from November 1, 2026 through April 1, 2027 and offers the opportunity to own meaningful client relationships and drive growth from day one.
About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)
Hearst Magazines' portfolio of more than 30 iconic brands in the U.S. inspires and entertains audiences across all media platforms. We are a global media company that publishes nearly 200 magazine editions and 175 websites around the world-and together, we are shaping what's next.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Manage the day-to-day business and relationships across the assigned East Coast account base, with a priority focus on Boston and New England.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building trusted relationships and ensuring continuity throughout the coverage period.
  • Drive new business development by proactively identifying, prospecting, and cultivating opportunities across performance footwear, outdoor, health, fitness, and related categories.
  • Identify client needs and deliver thoughtful solutions, information, and support that strengthen relationships and create opportunities for growth.
  • Develop relationships with qualified prospects and work to convert new opportunities into active advertisers.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective accounts and outreach activity while researching the market for opportunities to expand the territory.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-sale execution with internal teams, maintaining clear, accurate, and timely communication throughout the sales process.
  • Travel within the territory as needed for client meetings, appointments, and relationship-building opportunities.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
  • 5+ years of sales or account management experience, ideally within performance footwear, health and fitness, outdoor, or related categories.
  • Strong understanding of performance footwear and/or outdoor consumers, products, and channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to quickly understand an account base and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-moving sales environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional internal teams.
  • This is a remote, office-optional position. The territory covers the East Coast, with a priority focus on Boston/New England and responsibility for the broader assigned account list.

The hourly rate for this role is $75 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
