Job description

CDL Class A Driver – Tractor Trailer / Flatbed (Temp-to-Hire)

Pay: $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Meridian ID

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This temp-to-hire position involves transporting countertop slabs using both tractor-trailer and straight truck equipment. Drivers will perform multiple daily deliveries, assist with slab positioning during unloading, and build positive relationships with repeat customers.

This is a local and light regional driving position with no overnight travel required.


Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license (2 yrs experience minimum)
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience operating tractor-trailers and flatbed equipment
  • Experience with load securement practices
  • Ability to safely perform physical job duties
  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
  • Dependable attendance and professional customer service skills
  • Material Handling & Physical Duties
  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate both tractor-trailer (53' drop deck flatbed) and straight truck flatbed equipment
  • Perform local and light regional deliveries within approximately a 150-mile radius
  • Complete an average of 8 delivery stops per day
  • Conduct shuttle runs and occasional trailer swaps between company locations
  • Safely transport countertop slabs secured on A-frames
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported safely
  • Provide professional customer service at delivery locations

Drivers are expected to assist with slab handling and positioning during deliveries, including:

  • Using a manual wedge tool to separate slabs
  • Positioning slabs for customer removal using forklifts and boom clamps
  • Assisting with slab alignment and safe clamp placement
  • Working around stone slabs weighing 1,000+ pounds and measuring approximately 7' x 11'
  • Maintaining awareness of pinch points, load shifts, and fall-shadow zones during loading and unloading
