DeLine Box and Display is a corrugated box company that has been in business here in Denver for over 50 years. Dave DeLine, our current President, is the 4th generation of this family-owned company. Summary:

Using a forklift truck to perform a combination of material handling to stack, transport and move finished goods product. Responsible for loading and unloading trucks and assisting drivers with correct dispatch information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift by moving levers, controls, hoists, and/or clamp attachment, to ensure timely and accurate receiving, scanning, loading/unloading, stacking, stocking, transportation and delivery of materials or finished product.
  • Transport non-conforming product to quality staging area or to Transport scrap bales to staging area and load onto trailers.
  • Keep the warehouse well organized with material and stock in assigned locations, clearly labeled and marked with correct information, and all tags facing the same Follow first in first out procedure.
  • Participate with physical and cycle count roll stock inventory and identify inventory discrepancy Utilize scanners for scanning inventory into systems.
  • Perform routine inspection/maintenance on trucks and record data as necessary on required inspection
  • Assist Shipping department as needed loading and loading trailers and rail Verifies truck drivers have properly checked trucks.
  • Safely and successfully operate the truck following plant
  • Communicate successfully with internal customers including Operators, Feeders,

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse
  • Sit Down Forklift

Knowledge:

  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of corrugated board types and grades, converting production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Determine quantity and type of corrugated board and materials required for production per corrugated production schedule.
  • Knowledge of how to safely load and unload material or product to and from shipping trailers with a forklift truck. Knowledge of how to pattern and stack trailers utilizing maximum MSF per trailer.
  • Knowledge of relevant forklift equipment, policies, and safety procedures, and strategies to promote safety and the protection of people and property in a high traffic manufacturing facility.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem- solving and decision-making.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Mathematics - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of board, bundles per pallet, linear feet, weight measurement, dimensions, volume and distance.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents in English language.
  • Service Orientation – Provides timely delivery of corrugated board and materials to production and finishing staging areas.
  • Problem Solving - Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Installation - Installing fork attachment to Installing dock plates and chain for dock doors.
  • Operation and Control - Operate material moving, loading, or unloading
  • Operation Monitoring – Monitor converting production in determining material handling delivery. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure forklift is working properly.
  • Quality Control Analysis – Ability to visually inspect corrugated board and production material for damage and evaluate quality and run ability issues. Ability to identify finished good shipping issues for damage, bundling, stacking and palletizing errors.
