Part-Time Plant Merchandiser |Free State Growers | Olathe, KS

Welcome to Free State Growers!

We are a leading grower and supplier of indoor and outdoor plants, including annuals, perennials, tropical foliage, and holiday plants. As one of the largest plant growers in the Midwest, we deliver high-quality products to garden centers, grocery stores, and big box retailers across the region.

We are seeking a Part-Time Merchandiser / Plant Display Associate to maintain visually appealing, healthy, and well-stocked plant displays at retail locations. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys horticulture, retail merchandising, plant care, and independent work.

Location: Olathe, KS

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain attractive plant displays at assigned retail stores

  • Organize tables and hanging baskets, grouping similar plants and keeping displays full

  • Provide daily plant care: watering, pruning, removing dead leaves, and discarding unsellable plants

  • Sweep and clean floors and display areas to ensure a tidy presentation

  • Track inventory levels and communicate updates to the Merchandiser Lead

  • Coordinate with store management to secure prime display locations

  • Conduct inventories and maintain accurate product counts as needed

Skills & Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation to assigned stores

  • Cell phone for regular communication with the Merchandiser Lead

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions

  • Comfortable standing, bending, lifting, and performing physically active tasks

  • Interest in horticulture, floral displays, and plant care is a plus

  • Must be physically able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations

Work Schedule:
  • April 1 – September 30: 3 days per week

  • October 1 – March 31: 2 days per week
