Wolverine Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Lansing team and lead fast-paced, high-impact construction projects-primarily in healthcare environments. This role is ideal for an experienced construction PM who thrives managing multiple projects, building strong relationships, and delivering complex work with precision. You'll play a key role in supporting our growing Lansing office while helping expand into new markets. If you're detail-oriented, adaptable, and ready to make an immediate impact, we want to talk.
Role Overview
  • Primary focus: Healthcare construction (active hospital environments, infection control, shutdown coordination)
  • Project types: Renovations, small-scale ground-up, and facility upgrades
  • Project size: ~$100K-$15M
  • Project Duration: ~6 to 12 months average
  • Workload: Multiple concurrent projects with high coordination demands
  • Location: Downtown Lansing office + local job sites (minimal travel, typically under 1 hour)
  • Schedule: Primarily day shift (8-5), flexibility as projects require

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Manage internal project team members, depending on size and complexity of project
  • Lead estimating support, bid packages, subcontractor buyout, and contract negotiation
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
  • Oversee RFI, change order, and pay application processes
  • Coordinate closely with owners, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare safety and infection control standards
  • Proactively identify risks and solve problems to keep projects on track
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience aligned with the Wolverine Way

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
Required
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor
  • Healthcare construction experience (required), including work in active facilities
  • Demonstrated ownership of the full construction lifecycle
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management across clients, subs, inspectors, and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure

Preferred
  • Additional experience in ground-up, higher education, or commercial projects
  • Familiarity with short-duration, high-coordination projects
  • CHC, HCC, or similar healthcare safety credentials

Technical Skills
  • Procore
  • Scheduling (MS Project or equivalent)
  • Cost control & budgeting
  • Subcontractor management
