Job description

This pharmacy technician role offers the opportunity to support prescription processing and pharmacy operations in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. The position focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while providing excellent service to patients and healthcare providers.
Location: Clearwater, FL
Type: Temp/Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
    Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process prescriptions accurately, including insurance adjudications and rejection resolution
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification in accordance with standards
  • Manage data entry, prescription paperwork, and communication with patients and prescribers
  • Maintain inventory control through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date checks
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction in compliance with pharmacy regulations
  • Cross-train across multiple pharmacy functions and provide support to department needs
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance requirements
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, with some call center or customer service exposure preferred
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
