Job description

Job Title: Plumber

Job Description

We are seeking two skilled plumbers for a commercial project in Columbus. We need journeyman plumbers who can work independently with strong mechanical and commercial plumbing knowledge, as well as the ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Install vent, storm, sanitary, gas, and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to those systems.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvents, caulking or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Review blueprints and building codes and specifications.
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rules and levels.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets using hand and power tools.
  • Cut opening structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
  • Hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.

Essential Skills

  • Journeyman card.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Commercial plumbing experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in underground and rough-ins.
  • Proficiency with plumbing hand tools such as tape measures, pipe wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
