Job description

The Reverse Unit Supervisor will supervise reverse unit and downhole tool services and work with the reverse unit pumping and workover crew, performing a number of field tasks associated with the operation of equipment and tools in a downhole correction on a well site. Additionally, this role will have expert knowledge and ability to identify and provide efficient and effective corrective solutions to complete the job.
The work schedule for this position is on rotation with days on and days off, and shifts that may be daylight or night hours, which may vary by customer and location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Supervise the reverse unit and downhole operation from assessment to completion, including timely delivery of the equipment and tools to the job site.
  • Assess the condition of the well and identify the corrective action.
  • Identify the appropriate tools and equipment to perform the services.
  • Communicate effectively with the reverse unit and workover crew on the standard operating procedures for the downhole operation.
  • Effectively plan and communicate to the customer on the operation, procedures and equipment required for the job.
  • Maintains accurate records and completes accurate work tickets based on the company's and customer's requirements of the work performed.
  • Involved in business development of downhole services with sales organization, including reach-out and calls to current customers and potential customers.
  • Must follow Axis standard operating procedures and other specialized training required by regulatory agencies and the company.
  • Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the Fishing and Rental Services Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Valid Driver's license and acceptable MVR; Class A or B CDL a plus.
  • Minimum two (2) years of pump down, reverse unit operation experience in oilfield services, with working knowledge of workover rigs and downhole experience.
  • Expert knowledge of duplex and triplex pumps, hydraulic power swivels and downhole fishing tools, with ability to perform maintenance on the equipment in a safe, and professional manner.
  • Working knowledge of computer equipment and Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel (writing tickets, compiling data).
  • Effective communication skills with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to work independently and also in teamwork with other crews, particularly when under pressure in situation where priorities change or emergency situations.
  • Mobility, entering areas by the use of ladders or other access devices.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist, squat, crawl and walk; may have long periods of standing or sitting.
  • Exposure to working outdoors and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent of understanding instructions and communicating direction.
  • The ability to use simple mathematical calculations to make job related calculations.
  • Clearance of company pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screens.
  • Ability to travel over 50% of time.
