Job description

Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Fulton Ind Blvd / South Fulton Area
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: Starting at $20/hr
Job Type: Temp to Hire

Job Summary

We are hiring a CNC Machinist for a client in the production manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and quality inspection of CNC machining equipment in a high-volume production environment. Experience with Haas and/or Mazak machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers (Haas, Mazak) according to production schedules and engineering drawings

  • Load/unload raw materials and finished components

  • Perform tool offsets and machine adjustments to maintain part quality and efficiency

  • Select, install, and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and special tooling

  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments

  • Monitor machine performance and identify issues affecting quality or productivity

  • Maintain accurate production records and report status to supervisors

  • Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety procedures

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training as needed

Must Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout a 10-hour shift

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures

Preferred Skills

  • Previous CNC machining experience in a production manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on experience with Haas and/or Mazak CNC equipment

  • Experience with machine setups, tooling selection, and fixture changes

  • Familiarity with cutting speeds, feeds, and tool life management

  • Experience with special tooling and production optimization techniques
