MONDAY - FRIDAY 11A-7P, OVERTIME AS NEEDED

SUMMARY

The HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization's temporary recruitment, onboarding, and employee integration processes. This role serves as a key liaison between staffing agencies, new employees, supervisors, and Human Resources to ensure efficient hiring, successful onboarding, accurate employee documentation, and a positive employee experience. The HR Assistant also provides administrative support related to workforce planning, training administration, and employee support activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate staffing activities and vendor relationships, including daily communication with staffing agencies regarding open positions, candidate pre-screening, interview scheduling, offers, background checks, drug screens, issue resolution, and temporary-to-direct hire conversions.
  • Perform recruitment-related tasks, including applicant screening, interview coordination, and candidate communications.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews, orientations, and onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO), reviewing company policies, attendance expectations, workplace procedures, and benefits enrollment information.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees during the onboarding and integration process.
  • Provide support and guidance to new employees by answering questions and assisting with onboarding-related concerns.
  • Track and monitor onboarding milestones, training completion, and new hire progress to ensure successful integration into the organization.
  • Supporting Operations with maintain training records, safety training, training schedules, and training completion documentation.
  • Maintain personnel files, employee records, and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with time and attendance questions, corrections, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related inquiries.
  • Support employee recognition programs, employee engagement initiatives, and Employee Engagement Committee activities.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication for plant-wide employee engagement and community events.
  • Develop and distribute plant newsletters and manage employee communications through digital and breakroom communication channels.
  • Provide administrative support related to hiring, onboarding, employee integration, workforce reporting, and HR programs.
  • Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Resources, staffing, recruiting, administrative support, or a related role.
  • Experience working with staffing agencies, onboarding processes, or employee administration preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing/production facility with exposure to loud machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Regular interaction with production employees, supervisors, staffing agencies, and external partners.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
  • May occasionally require lifting materials up to 25 pounds and participation in orientation sessions, training events, employee engagement activities, and plant floor support.
