Job description

Payroll Administrator / Implementation Consultant

We are currently seeking candidates for a Payroll Administrator/Implementation Consultant at a law firm in Downtown Boston, MA, 02110. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and conversions at a professional services organization.
This is a temporary role (est. 3-6 months); the hourly pay rate is between $40.00 and $44.00 per hour (based on relevant work experience) within a 40-hour work week.
On-site 5 days per week.
Starts September 14th, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Convert multiple trust payrolls over to the new system, ensuring that SOPs are in place and meeting all compliance regulations
  • Set up multiple trusts
  • Verify demographics are correct under each trust
  • Set up multi-state deductions correctly and verify garnishments are correct
  • Perform all pre-payroll tests by trust to make sure that the system is set up correctly
  • Run payroll reports by trust
  • Close out accounts in different states
  • Process cash transactions, including disbursements and receipts
  • Assist in account openings/closures
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, conversions, and bookkeeping
  • Experience with A/P and Billing in a trust environment  
  • Experience with payroll conversions
  • Experience in processing multiple payrolls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong system experience with Microsoft Excel, Paychex, ADP, or Paylocity
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
