Description
Incumbent operates an E-Bike and bike lane sweeper to clean and maintain designated bike lanes throughout the city.
Duties
This person will be responsible for sweeping the bike lanes all over the city while riding an E-Bike. This person will be responsible for maintaining the E-Bike used to sweep the bike lanes. This person will be responsible for maintenance of the bike lane sweeper. Placing the sweeper contents into the appropriate bins.
Job Requirements
Physically capable of riding an E-Bike 20 miles per day, pulling up to 50 pounds.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
Capable of performing light maintenance on the E-Bike and Bike Lane Sweeper.

Difficulty of Work
The work involves moderate physical and mental demands. The position requires sustained operation of an E-Bike and bike lane sweeper throughout the city, including frequent riding, starting, stopping, turning, mounting, and dismounting. The employee must safely maneuver the E-Bike and sweeper around pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, obstacles, and varying roadway and bike lane conditions.
The position requires repetitive physical activity, including handling and emptying collected debris, placing materials into appropriate bins, and performing routine cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of the E-Bike and sweeper. Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, dirt, debris, and other environmental conditions. The employee must remain alert to surroundings and changing conditions while operating equipment in public areas. The position also requires the ability to identify equipment problems, make basic adjustments or repairs when appropriate, and determine when additional maintenance or assistance is needed.
Personal Work Relationships
Work requires regular interaction with the immediate supervisor and other City employees regarding assignments, work schedules, equipment maintenance, safety concerns, and operating conditions. The position may also interact with other City departments and personnel while performing work throughout the city.
The employee may have frequent contact with members of the public, including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, property owners, and other users of City streets, bike lanes, and public areas. Interactions require professionalism, courtesy, and the ability to communicate effectively while performing work independently in the field.
