Mike's Bikes is seeking both aspiring and experienced hands-on individuals to join their dynamic Tech Department as a Bike Technician. Whether you're new to bike repair and eager to learn or a seasoned mechanic looking for a supportive and growth-oriented environment, we have a place for you. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE:

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

-Ideally 1+ years of experience with bicycle maintenance 

-A quick learner with technical aptitude and great communication skills

-Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

-Comfortable working with your hands and using tools regularly

-Physically up for it! Lifting bikes, climbing ladders, and moving around the store is part of the gig

-Comfortable chatting with customers in person and on the phone

-Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive motions

-Motivated to succeed in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment

-Flexible and available to work weekends as needed


HOURLY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, and industry experience with a starting range between $18-$26/hr plus a bi-weekly bonus potential of $250. Experienced techs can potentially earn between $22/hr-$26/hr. 

Entry level candidates can expect to make at least $17 an hour (or more depending on the local minimum wage) plus a bi-weekly bonus potential of $250. We offer medical and dental benefits to full-time employees as well as a 401K plan with company matching, and paid time off. 

Duties: 

  • Execute successful repairs independently to the satisfaction of Company standards.
  • Communicate with customers in person and via Ikeono regarding the status of their bicycle repair.
  • Complete daily tasks as assigned within prescribed timelines while communicating any exceptions to the General Manager.
  • Keep abreast of technical aspects of bicycle repair, and new products by completing assigned Myagi training modules by the deadlines.
  • Maintain tools and bench area on a daily basis according to Company standards.
  • Become familiar with Mike's Bikes' safety program as it applies to your job. Wear safety equipment as required when using the grinder, heat gun, air compressor, drills, etc.
  • Learn and follow safety procedures when utilizing degreasers, lubricants and ArmaKleen Parts Cleaner. 

Requirements

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds' solo and up to 50 pounds' shoulder to height repetitively throughout the day. Vision may be corrected within normal range. The noise level in the work environment is loud.Â
