Job description

Nursing/Intermediate Care - RN

Job Title: PCU Location: Springfield, Massachusetts Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension Pay Rate: $65 - $70/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PCU for a temporary assignment in Springfield, Massachusetts. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PCU:

• Work on a Medical Intermediate Care Unit (Daly 6B) that is half medical-tele and half medical step-down • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 for Intermediate Care and 1:6 for Medical patients • Provide care for cases including PNA, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, ETOH withdrawal, GIB, Sepsis, PE, UTI, and Respiratory failure • Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications • Demonstrate 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience • Float to other units as needed • Work on both sides of the floor (med-tele and IMC) • Demonstrate experience with trachs and ventilator management • Manage patients on high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP • Administer and monitor cardiac drips • Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation • Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements • Maintain valid state licensure and required compliance documentation
