Description
ActioNet has an immediate need for a highly skilled Wireless Network Engineer with over 10 years of experience specializing in Aruba wireless systems. The ideal candidate will be an expert in 802.11 technologies, controller-based WLAN implementation, and wireless security. This role requires designing and optimizing enterprise wireless networks, conducting predictive and on-site heat maps for Wi-Fi coverage, and implementing secure authentication mechanisms. The engineer will ensure seamless integration of Local Wireless Controllers with existing Mobility Conductors, maintaining a highly secure and resilient wireless infrastructure.
Salary: $105-120K
Location: Remote
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and optimize Aruba-based wireless networks, ensuring high performance and security.
  • Conduct wireless site surveys and predictive modeling using tools such as Ekahau or AirMagnet to assess RF propagation, interference, and coverage.
  • Implement and manage Aruba Mobility Conductors, Controllers, and Access Points, ensuring seamless operation within an enterprise environment.
  • Develop and enforce secure authentication and encryption mechanisms, including 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, and WPA3.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, SSIDs, and QoS policies for enterprise-grade Wi-Fi deployments.
  • Lead Virtual Switching System (VSS) activities and provide guidance on network segmentation and access control strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze wireless network performance, identifying and resolving issues related to capacity, interference, and security.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement wireless intrusion detection/prevention systems (WIDS/WIPS).
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and security policies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging wireless technologies to propose network improvements and enhancements.

Qualifications:
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility for Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience with Aruba wireless systems and enterprise WLAN design.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of 802.11 protocols, RF design principles, and WLAN troubleshooting.
  • Tools & Software: Proficiency in network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Ekahau, AirMagnet, Aruba Central, ClearPass).
  • Networking Standards: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security principles.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX), Aruba Certified Design Expert (ACDX), CWNP (CWNA, CWSP, CWDP).
  • Infrastructure Integration: Experience integrating wireless networks with firewalls, load balancers, and SD-WAN solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • DOD Experience: Prior experience working on Department of Defense (DOD) or highly secured networks.
  • High-Density Wireless: Experience designing Wi-Fi solutions for large-scale deployments, including stadiums, campuses, or government facilities.
  • Security Implementation: Knowledge of Zero Trust security frameworks, network segmentation, and secure IoT onboarding.
  • Automation & Scripting: Familiarity with Python, Ansible, or similar tools for network automation and monitoring.
