Network Engineer
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Network Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical networks for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in wireless, SD-WAN, and cybersecurity to build secure, resilient infrastructure that directly enhances the quality of life for military personnel and their families. You'll work on meaningful projects that support mission readiness and day-to-day connectivity across DoD environments.
What You'll Work On:
  • Serve as a core member of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, responsible for the day-to-day operation and sustainment of enterprise and tactical network systems.
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 shift schedule, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, to support mission-critical operations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Aruba wireless LANs, controllers, access points, and ClearPass and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Conduct performance tuning and network health assessments.
  • Conduct and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans using approved tools in compliance with DoD requirements.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for escalated network issues.
  • Collaborate across IT teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant network operations.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking roles
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering and troubleshooting
  • Experience with IP networking solutions
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and data network protocols, and protocol analysis tools such as tcpdump or Wireshark
  • Knowledge of DoD network deployments, STIGs, and IA compliance standards
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and diagrams
  • Ability to work on a rotational shift schedule to provide 24x7x365 coverage, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto or Fortinet, NAC, and network security policies
  • Experience with access control appliances such as Aruba ClearPass
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python or Ansible
  • Knowledge of cloud networking such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Bachelor's degree in a CS, IT, or Engineering field
  • DoD 8570 Certification such as Security+ Certification
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CompTIA Network+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
