Job description

The Wireless Development Quality Assurance Engineer works within the R&D team to ensure the productivity, reliability, and accuracy of Fortinet's WLAN product. In general, testing covers various feature combinations integrated with Fortinet products, as a typical customer would deploy in real-time production networks; with real clients and traffic. Also tests interoperability between Fortinet devices and thirdโ€‘party devices or clients. The QA Engineer must collaborate with the team and work efficiently and effectively in a fastโ€‘paced work environment to identify the highest risks that must be addressed for determining release readiness.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans (functional, regression, performance).
  • Build complex testbeds integrating multiple Fortinet and thirdโ€‘party devices.
  • Perform interoperability testing (Fortinet + thirdโ€‘party devices/clients).
  • Analyze customerโ€‘reported issues, review logs, replicate defects in lab, validate fixes.
  • Identify, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution.
  • Produce accurate QA reports on time.
  • Build and maintain test infrastructure for feature validation and defect reproduction.
  • Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with developers on debugging.
Job Requirements
  • 3โ€“6+ years of wireless QA experience.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies (test plans, bug tracking, failure documentation).
  • Networking and Wiโ€‘Fi protocol knowledge: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be.
  • Experience with functional, stress/load, and performance testing.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX/Windows OS.
  • Experience with debugging and log analysis.
  • Wireless tools: Wireshark, Omnipeek, Ixia Veriwave, Chariot, iperf.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Python automation experience.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in computer science/engineering, or equivalent.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

The U.S. base salary range for this fullโ€‘time position is $130,000โ€“$151,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.
