Job description

Registered Nurse - Birth Center

Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment. Uses all phases of nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for the direction and supervision of the nursing patient care team typically made up of CNAs, LPNs, and other techs. Collaborates with own team and other disciplines in the provision of care. Documents patient care, patient condition, reactions and response to treatment in a timely manner and tracks patient progress.

Client will not consider any candidate who resides within 50 miles of facility. Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD/DURING INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).

Birth Center: 11 LDRP rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR RN to patient ratio: 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction of labor; 1:3 couplets, 1:2 early labor patients EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

  • 2 years current Birthing Center experience - [REQUIRED]
  • Experience with laboring patients, delivery (newborn care at delivery), and postpartum (moms and babies) - [REQUIRED]
  • Prior travel experience - [PREFERRED]
  • NRP - [PREFERRED] - Oaklawn will consider RN's without the active certification, must be willing to obtain!
  • Travelers perm address must be included in profile
  • Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
  • Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer/at interview. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer
