Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with hospice experience to provide after-hours visits, symptom management, and family education in a home health and hospice setting. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in an on-call schedule and is committed to delivering comfort-focused care.

Job Details
  • Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Homecare / Hospice
  • Location: Cottonwood, AZ 86326
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 - $2,230
  • Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
  • Schedule: After-hours coverage Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM; 24-hour coverage on Saturdays and Sundays
  • On-Call Requirement: Primary on-call RN role with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
  • Setting: Hospice / Homecare / Home Health
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026
  • Duration: 20 weeks
  • Education: Associate degree minimum
  • Dress Code: Any scrubs with closed-toe shoes
Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience required; hospice nursing experience is required
  • Associate degree in nursing or higher
  • Strong clinical assessment and symptom-management skills
  • Comfort working independently in a homecare and hospice environment
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred, including HCHB (Home Care Home Base) and EMAR
  • Ability to provide compassionate support to patients and families during end-of-life care
Responsibilities
  • Perform after-hours and weekend hospice visits as the primary on-call nurse
  • Assess and manage symptoms, medications, and patient comfort needs
  • Provide personal care guidance, education, and emotional support to families
  • Complete admissions, follow-up visits, PRN visits, and recertifications
  • Support patients and loved ones through the dying process with empathy and professionalism
  • Document care accurately and coordinate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Travel within the service area as needed to support a 65-mile coverage radius
