Job description

Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and seeing a project come to life? Join Italian Marble & Granite, a premier stone fabrication company known for creating beautiful custom countertops and surfaces for homes and businesses throughout Western New York.

We're looking for a Field Measure Technician (Templator) who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys interacting with customers, and takes pride in precision and craftsmanship. In this role, you'll be the critical link between our customers' vision and our fabrication team, ensuring every countertop is measured accurately before production begins.

If you have an eye for detail, enjoy being on the move instead of sitting behind a desk, and want to be part of a team that creates stunning finished products, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Travel to residential and commercial job sites to create precise digital and manual templates for granite, quartz, marble, quartzite, and other stone surfaces.
  • Verify that cabinets and work areas are ready for measurement and communicate any concerns to customers, contractors, or project managers.
  • Capture all dimensions, seam locations, overhangs, sink and appliance cutouts, and other project specifications.
  • Review sink, faucet, appliance, and special feature requirements to ensure fabrication accuracy.
  • Identify and document any site conditions that may impact installation, such as uneven cabinets or out-of-square walls.
  • Take photos and detailed notes to support our fabrication and installation teams.
  • Upload and process digital templates and ensure all measurements are accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with homeowners, builders, designers, and internal team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Assist customers with decisions regarding seam placement, slab patterns, and finishes when needed.
  • Coordinate with scheduling and production teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Follow all safety guidelines while working in homes and construction environments.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a templator, field measure technician, countertop installer, cabinet installer, or similar trade experience preferred.
  • Experience with laser templating systems such as Proliner, MS5000, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints, cabinet drawings, and construction plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfortable using tablets, software, and digital measuring technology.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of natural and engineered stone products is helpful but not required-we're willing to train the right candidate.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Kneel, bend, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Navigate stairs and active construction sites.
  • Stand and move throughout job sites for extended periods.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

$23 - $25 per hour + medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick and much more.
