Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented TEMPEST Practitioner to join our team in St Louis, MO.

The TEMPEST Practitioner will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support technical security efforts, to include creating technical documentation, responding to required controls, and completing required tasks and actions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in executing technical assessments, inspections, evaluations, and reviews accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Supporting the implementation and management of technical security programs, which includes analyzing requirements and developing processes to control or mitigate compromising emanations.
  • Providing technical guidance and assistance by collecting necessary information, such as drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications, and assisting with workflow requests.
  • Conducting technical testing and visual inspections of facilities, systems, and equipment, including shielded enclosures and distribution systems.
  • Representing technical interests in meetings concerning classified information processing, providing detailed assessments of technical scope, and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Managing daily operations, maintaining the accuracy of automated workflow processes, and overseeing annual technical evaluations.
  • Maintaining technical readiness, qualifications, and test equipment maintenance and calibration as per relevant policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in technical security, TEMPEST, or facility inspection related fields.
  • Significant experience navigating facility evaluation processes and national technical security requirements.
  • Significant experience meeting security requirements in specialized technical environments or similar environments.
  • Experience working across a large team to drive a security agenda and working with complex, intertwined systems.
  • Experience inventorying complex facility layouts, and with technical documentation such as shielding, grounding, and distribution systems.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentation, particularly facility and security documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credentialed graduate of an accredited federal or Counterintelligence training academy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Possess advanced technical security training and certifications for completion of foundational and facility design courses.
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, organize meetings/boards, and drive change throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
