Job description

TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia and Las Vegas, Nevada, and Holt, MI.  We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products.  The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold-chain such as Styrofoam coolers.  Our aspiration is to provide packaging solutions that customers and end-consumers feel great about using. 

Job Title: General Laborer 

Supervisor’s Title: Team Lead 

Location: 2510 Snow Road, Suite B, Lansing MI, 48917

Shifts: 

1st Monday-Friday 6:30 am- 2:30 pm  

2nd Monday-Friday 2:30 pm-10:30 pm  

3rd Monday-Friday 10:30 pm- 6:30 am  

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  

  • Responsible for running production and following safety rules / procedures. 

  • Able to keep up with the flow of production and minimize downtime. 

  • Willingness to use band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine. 

  • Responsible for building boxes with use of tape gun and staple gun 

  • Willingness to help with inventory at the end of the month. 

  • Responsible for area safety and housekeeping 

  • Committed to continuous process improvement and to produce safe and quality products that meet specifications and our responsibility to our customers. 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

  • Other duties as necessitated by the business. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.  

  • Previous experience in a production environment is preferred.  

  • Valid driver’s license is also preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Be on your feet for 10-12 hours.  

  • Lift up to 50 lbs in a continuous manner 

  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks.  

  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.  

  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts.  

  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts.  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, and
