Job Summary Job Summary About San Domenico San Domenico School is a K-12 independent school located on a 515-acre campus in Marin County. The school is rooted in academic excellence and a strong commitment to community, service, and student development.

San Domenico offers a comprehensive athletics program that emphasizes competitive integrity, sportsmanship, and balance between academics and athletics. About the Role The Womens JV Soccer Coach at San Domenico School is responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This role focuses on participation, sportsmanship, and the development of basic soccer skills and personal character, rather than high-level competitive performance.

The coach aims to prepare athletes for the Varsity level, ensuring that the soccer program reflects the school's core values of study, reflection, community, and service. San Domenico fields a girls' interscholastic soccer team in the winter season, typically running 10-11 weeks, inclusive of practices and matches. The Soccer Coach leads and supervises all aspects of this interscholastic season.

Practices are held after school on weekdays, with matches also scheduled primarily after school, and occasional weekend commitments depending on league and postseason play. The Soccer Coach plans and runs daily practices, coaches all scheduled matches, and supports student-athletes in balancing athletic commitments with their academic responsibilities. This position plays a vital role within the Athletics Department and reports to the Director of Athletics.

The coach works closely with student-athletes, parents, and fellow coaching staff to support a strong team culture, clear communication, and a positive student experience within a school-based athletic program. Requirements / Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and organize daily practice sessions focused on skill development, conditioning, and match strategy for players of varying levels. Coach and manage all scheduled matches, including home games on our campus fields and away games throughout the region.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes by following school protocols and maintaining a respectful team culture. Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director regarding team progress, scheduling, and equipment needs. Maintain and manage all team equipment and uniforms, ensuring the soccer facilities are used respectfully.

Foster strong relationships with parents through clear and timely communication regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress. Coordinate transportation logistics for away matches by driving school vehicles to transport the team. Promote a culture of "Panther Pride" by encouraging high standards of sportsmanship and academic balance for all players.

Attend required athletic department meetings, school open house events, and professional development sessions. Qualifications: Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience 3+ years of experience coaching soccer, ideally at the high school or collegiate level. Proven experience working with and mentoring developmental athletes to improve their foundational skills.

Deep knowledge of CIF rules and competitive match strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. Ability to work flexible afternoon hours, including evenings for matches.

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season starts). Because driving school passenger vehicles is a core function of this role, candidates must meet strict institutional insurance standards: License Requirement: Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License (Class C) with an insurable, clean driving history Desired Skills: United Soccer Coaches or USSF certification is highly preferred. Experience working in an independent school environment.

Strong organizational skills for managing rosters and match reporting. A commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for athletes of all backgrounds.
