Job description

Operational Support and Preparation
These duties focus on ensuring the workspace and materials are ready for use.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
    • Preparation and Organization:
      • Perform necessary prep work for classes, workshops, or events (e.g., cutting materials, assembling kits, preparing samples, organizing tools).
      • Stock and organize supplies, equipment, and materials in storage areas, classrooms, or labs.
      • Assist in creating an organized and efficient working environment.
    • Set-up:
      • Execute the set-up of classrooms, labs, or event spaces, including arranging furniture, equipment, and necessary supplies according to instructor or supervisor specifications.
      • Ensure all necessary technical equipment (e.g., projectors, computers) is available and functional for instructional use.
    • Clean-up and Sanitation:
      • Perform comprehensive clean-up tasks after classes, workshops, or events.
      • Wash and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces.
      • Responsible for washing dishes and ensuring all glassware, tools, and containers are properly cleaned, dried, and stored.
    • Facility Upkeep:
      • Empty trash and recycling bins as needed.
      • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the supervisor promptly.
      • Maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the assigned workspace.

Requirements
Requirements:
    • Currently enrolled in Culinary or Hospitality programs at WSU Tech, required.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental procedures.
    • Maintain a professional, punctual, and reliable work ethic.
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with supervisors, instructors, and peers.
    • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds (or specify an appropriate weight) and stand for extended periods.
