POSITION/TITLE: HR Business Partner
WORK LOCATION: Higginsville, MO
POSITION REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
WORK TYPE: ON SITE (Not a Remote Position)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Business Partner I is responsible for performing HR on a professional level and works closely with the Plant leaders and Corporate Human Resources team in supporting the needs of the business and human resources function. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, team member relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy consistency, full cycle recruitment, and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works directly with leaders and team members to assist with needs and responds timely.
• Responsible for overall Human Resources activities and requirements.
• Responsible for Safety and Worker's Compensation programs and administration.
• Partners with managers to develop and implement programs and procedures that promote positive team member relations.
• Implements and ensures consistency in administration of personnel policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all benefits administration.
• Responsible for all payroll entry, recordkeeping and team member needs.
• Responsible for full cycle recruitment efforts and temporary staffing agency needs.
• Establishes and maintains confidential department records and reports, both personnel file and payroll/human resources information system
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, including workers' compensation.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
• Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Investigates all job related accidents for accuracy on reporting per OSHA requirements.
  • Maintains working knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations including workers' compensation.

• Responsible for tracking and communicating Disability and Leave of Absence/FMLA/ADA needs.
• Must be able to flex normal work hours to accommodate plant shift hours and needs
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferred in manufacturing or industrial company environment
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated experience in all areas of Human Resources

(staffing/retention/onboarding/benefits/payroll/systems/coaching, etc.)
  • Ability to influence without authority, become a trusted partner and build collaborative relationships while handling confidential information
  • Must be approachable, professional and develop strong professional relationships
  • Both strategic and hands on efforts required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Professional presence and polish

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SHRM Certification(s) or willingness to earn in first year of employment
  • Paycor Experience

  • Will be required to frequently move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds which may require frequent bending, twisting and reaching motions.
  • Team Member may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Team Member may be required to stand for long periods up to 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts.
  • Team Member may be required to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT (Manufacturing Plant):
The characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of a position in our manufacturing plants. Note that office positions located within our Manufacturing Plants often require some plant floor presence throughout the day so these work environment details may not always apply, they should still be noted.
  • Work space is one that contains moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires work in an indoor manufacturing environment that may be exposed to extreme heat that is not air conditioned.
  • Work environment contains loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis as well as occasional airborne particles.
  • Must wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards at all times.
  • Ability to work an 8+, 10+ or 12+ hour shifts as designated.
  • Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
