If so, look no further - McCaw Hall at Seattle Center is seeking friendly, customer-service oriented Ushers to help us provide an amazing theater experience to thousands of visitors every day. This role is perfect for students, those seeking supplementary income, and/or anyone passionate about the arts. McCaw Hall boasts of being the only place to see shows by the Pacific NW Ballet and Seattle Opera as well as hosting big name concerts, comedians, and corporate events.

Choose your schedule to work the shifts convenient for you. Most shifts are evenings, weekends, holidays, with some day shifts. There is an opportunity to also work the many different events on Seattle Center grounds.

Ushers (including Door Attendants and other Guest Services roles) are primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, and participating in public safety measures before, during and after Seattle Center events and in emergency situations. Job Responsibilities Here is more of what you will be doing: Greet guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner Direct patrons to seat locations and assist with patron egress by clearing aisles and lobbies following events Respond to patron inquiries and complaints and provide information regarding events and facilities Ensure that aisles, stairways and the floors are kept clear in compliance with safety regulations Communicate with supervisor of unresolved patron concerns, emergencies or unsafe conditions Locate patrons and deliver emergency messages Work evenings, weekends and holidays depending on events Qualifications You will be ready to take on this role if you: Are friendly and welcoming Can demonstrate exceptional reliability and punctuality Take direction well Keep calm under pressure or in highly distracting situations Possess excellent customer service skills and can easily interact with diverse patrons Are available to work a minimum of 150 hours annually and meet attendance standards. Communicate respectfully and clearly with colleagues and visitors alike Are willing to meet established dress standards and wear a uniform as provided by Seattle Center Have basic computer proficiency, which includes navigating web browsers or mobile apps You will love this job if you: Enjoy being part of Seattle's premier art and event community Have prior guest services/hospitality experience in venues featuring film, music performance, theater, or sports Seek out interactions with people from all over the world Thrive in a busy and frequently changing environment Work Environment/Physical Demands: Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays Must be able to stand in one location for up to 4 hours at a time Frequently climb and negotiate stairs and narrow aisles While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, must be able to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds Position requires hearing and vision acuity, depth perception and ability to function in low light situations.

Pre-Employment Physical: successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical (paid for by The City of Seattle). Additional Information This is an intermittent/on-call position. Hours are dependent on event schedules at Seattle Center.

The full salary range for this position is $26.92-$26.92 per hour. Temporary employees begin at step 1, which is $26.92 hourly. Intermittent employees do not get salary step increases
