Role Summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Certified Electrician for a direct hire field position supporting residential solar and battery installations throughout the Chicagoland area.

This is a hands-on electrical position responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems associated with residential solar and energy storage equipment. The Electrician will perform Main Panel Upgrades, battery installations, grid interconnections, and other electrical work while ensuring compliance with current NEC and local electrical codes.

Required

  • Electrical installation and repair experience
  • Valid Journeyman License, Electrician Certification, Wireman License, or equivalent based on applicable state/local requirements
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
  • Knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes
  • strong electrical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently in residential field environments
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • strong safety awareness and customer service skills

Preferred

  • Experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
  • Main Panel Upgrade experience
  • Residential solar installation experience
  • Battery or energy storage system experience
  • Experience working with local electrical inspectors

Training

  • 2.5-day Foundation Training during the first week of employment
  • After successful completion, employees are assigned to a crew for hands-on field training

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical installations connecting residential solar arrays to utility/grid power
  • Install and service electrical systems associated with solar and battery equipment
  • Complete solar battery installations as assigned
  • Troubleshoot electrical and solar system problems and determine proper repairs
  • Safely plan and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs)
  • Replace or upgrade residential electrical services and distribution panels as needed
  • Work with electrical systems involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
  • Ensure electrical work meets current NEC and local electrical codes
  • Verify electrical workmanship and identify code or safety concerns
  • Coordinate with homeowners regarding required system upgrades and repairs
  • Work directly with local inspectors to satisfy inspection requirements
  • Support branch teams with electrical service and installation needs
  • Complete service calls and additional electrical work as assigned
