About this Position
This is a Temporary role.
The candidate will be assigned to the OSUCOM-CN Tahlequah, OK Campus.
The Simulation Specialist serves as a technical expert who is able to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot medical simulation equipment and software associated. The Simulation Specialist also instructs and assists simulation educators/faculty and learners in the use of medical equipment and task trainers used in simulation. In addition, assists in operation activities such as staffing and maintenance scheduling, and inventory/purchasing functions. Assist in the development, setup, delivery, and takedown of medical simulation education sessions.
Required Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 2+ years of experience as a technician/technologist in a medical simulation center, hospital, or related medical environment

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to sustain healthy relationships with students, staff and faculty.
  • Demonstrate ability to install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot hospital and technical equipment and software used in a clinical education environment
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to acquire new skills and learn new procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical
  • Licensed nurse, paramedic, or emergency medicine technician. ACLS instructor preferred, or ability to become an ACLS instructor.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
  • Licensed paramedic or emergency medicine technician with experience in simulation.
