Description
The Simulation Fidelity Specialist (SFS), reporting to the Operations Manager/Simulation Specialist and supporting the initiatives defined by the Senior Director of the Interprofessional Simulation and Innovation Center, is responsible for the daily operations and technical fidelity of the simulation centers. This includes providing technical expertise during simulation sessions, preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring the integrity of high-fidelity patient simulation cases. The SFS is knowledgeable and applies best practices in moulage and simulation fidelity, supports faculty during student sessions, and may participate in scenarios as a role player.
This is a temporary position anticipated to begin August 31 and end December 11, with an expected schedule of approximately 24-32 hours per week. The anticipated hourly rate is $22.00-$24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during simulation sessions, including control of patient simulators, setup, and safe use of equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot simulation center equipment, audio-visual systems, and related computer technologies.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and ISIC stakeholders to support student learning and deliver high-quality simulations.
  • Conduct demonstrations of simulation equipment for students, faculty, staff, and external users.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, center evaluations, and annual goals in compliance with university safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline plus 3 to 4 years of relevant clerical, administrative, or IT experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • Proven abstract analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using both media and information technology
  • Ability to acquire new skills and learn new techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with academic and technical colleagues.
  • Ability to problem solve in a changing environment.
  • Training and experience in academic/field-based health care e.g., Basic EMT, nursing or respiratory therapist.
  • Prior experience working with human patient simulators.
  • Experience working within an academic environment.
  • Experience working with medical equipment.
