Job description

Summary:As a Senior Composites Technician, you will be responsible for performing advanced assembly and fabrication of adhesive-bonded composite structures. Building on prior experience, you will play a key role in ensuring processes are completed with the highest precision, quality, and efficiency while supporting leadership within the team.Key Responsibilities:Comply with written work instructions, standard procedures, and processes to perform advanced layup and assembly tasks.Plan, lay out, fabricate, and build adhesive-bonded assemblies of non-metallic composite materials with a high level of proficiency.Perform precision layup, pre-fit, and assembly of composite bonded structures with strict attention to tolerances.Fit and install core components with exceptional accuracy.Demonstrate advanced skills in laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines, using patterns or templates.Support Environmental Health & Safety and Quality System policies to maintain a safe, efficient workplace.Perform a variety of non-routine fabrication, curing, build-up, and assembly procedures under limited supervision.Apply proficient knowledge of composite technologies, including hi-temp plastics, prepreg, graphite epoxy, wet graphite, and silicone injection molding.Assist in leading the shop area to ensure quality and safety standards are upheld.Qualifications:4+ years of relevant experience or related technical training (A&P school, composite/metal bonding).Ability to read and interpret OEM drawings with precision.Experience with lean and continuous improvement practices preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, and sitting for extended periods.Skilled in advanced layup methods, including prepreg, infusion, and resin mixing for infusion and gel coating.Proficient in using small hand tools (routers, die grinders, band saws, Dremel tools) for advanced assembly tasks.Strong mathematics and precision measuring skills.Accuracy in completing paperwork and manufacturing routing sheets.Effective communication skills in English (written and oral).Ability to take initiative, adapt to changing priorities, and work in a dynamic environment.Basic computer data entry skills.
