About Comfort Temp
At Comfort Temp, we have been serving customers since 1985 with a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and doing excellent work. Our team supports commercial and residential customers across North Central Florida through HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical solutions that help businesses operate safely, comfortably, and efficiently.
Our values guide the way we work:
Do what you say.
Do what it takes.
Walk with purpose.
Do the right thing.
Job Summary
Comfort Temp is looking for a Commercial Sales Advisor who can help grow our commercial HVAC and plumbing business through relationship-driven sales, field activity, and consistent follow-through.
This role is built for someone who knows how to create opportunity, build trust with business owners and decision makers, identify facility needs, and turn conversations into long-term customer relationships. The right person will be comfortable prospecting, visiting job sites, reviewing mechanical needs, coordinating with internal teams, and helping customers understand the right solutions for their buildings.
This is an individual contributor role based out of Gainesville, FL. The focus will be commercial account growth, with activity in the Greater Gainesville market and surrounding regional opportunities as needed.
The person who succeeds here will not just wait for leads. They will build a pipeline, create relationships, ask good questions, communicate clearly, and work closely with estimating, operations, project management, and service teams to deliver a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and develop new commercial HVAC and plumbing opportunities through lead generation, networking, referrals, field activity, and company-provided opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with business owners, property managers, general contractors, facilities managers, and other commercial decision makers.
Conduct site visits, facility reviews, mechanical system evaluations, and customer needs assessments.
Prepare and present proposals, pricing, scopes, bids, and service solutions for commercial installations, replacements, projects, and service opportunities.
Partner with estimating, operations, project management, service, and field teams to ensure accurate proposals and smooth handoffs.
Manage an active sales pipeline and document activity, communication, follow-ups, and proposals in the company CRM.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals while maintaining strong communication and accountability.
Stay current on Comfort Temp's services, capabilities, markets, and customer needs.
Represent Comfort Temp professionally at customer meetings, networking opportunities, industry events, and trade-related functions when needed.
Help create a sales experience that builds confidence, trust, and long-term customer relationships.
First 100 Days: What Success Looks Like
First 7 Days
The first week is focused on onboarding, culture, systems, and clarity. The Commercial Sales Advisor should begin learning Comfort Temp's values, services, team structure, sales process, CRM expectations, current pipeline, and internal communication flow. This includes understanding how sales opportunities move from first conversation to proposal, handoff, and completed work.
First 30 Days
By day 30, the Commercial Sales Advisor should understand the key performance indicators for the role, begin active field work, participate in sales calls or ride-alongs, and start building a working understanding of customer needs, internal processes, and available support. This stage should also identify any training gaps that need to be addressed.
First 60 Days
By day 60, the Commercial Sales Advisor should be actively communicating with prospects and customers, managing pipeline activity, aligning with KPI expectations, and working toward the first meaningful win. This may include a first proposal, first qualified opportunity, first strong customer relationship, or first closed opportunity depending on timing and market activity.
First 90 Days
By day 90, the Commercial Sales Advisor should have strong buy-in to the role requirements, sales process, field activity expectations, and production goals. The person should be building sufficient pipeline activity, creating opportunities, and showing clear movement toward measurable sales results.
First 100 Days
By day 100, the Commercial Sales Advisor should be performing like a contributing team member. This means consistent activity, clear communication, CRM accountability, internal alignment, customer follow-up, and a demonstrated ability to represent Comfort Temp professionally in the market.
Requirements and Skills
Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, construction, facility services, or related B2B sales experience preferred.
Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, manage a sales funnel, and move opportunities through a longer sales cycle.
Strong relationship-building skills with commercial customers, business owners, property managers, general contractors, and facilities leaders.
Ability to understand customer needs and communicate technical solutions in a clear, practical way.
Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, controls, service contracts, or mechanical drawings is preferred.
Comfortable conducting site visits, walking facilities, asking discovery questions, and gathering information needed for proposals.
Strong communication, presentation, follow-up, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and customer conversations at the same time.
Experience using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and basic estimating or proposal tools preferred.
Must reside within driving distance of Gainesville, FL, or be willing to relocate at personal expense.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to conduct site visits, including walking large facilities, climbing stairs or ladders when needed, and navigating active job sites.
May occasionally lift or carry sample equipment, materials, or documents up to 25 pounds.
Why This Role Matters
Commercial sales at Comfort Temp is not just about chasing numbers. It is about helping customers solve real facility problems, protecting long-term relationships, and connecting the right internal teams to the right opportunities.
The right Commercial Sales Advisor will help Comfort Temp grow by creating trust in the market, opening doors with new customers, and making sure customers experience the professionalism and follow-through our company is built on.
How to Apply
If you are a relationship-driven commercial sales professional who understands HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, or facility service sales, we would like to hear from you.
Send your resume and cover letter to Brandon@comforttemp.com and tell us why you are ready to take the next step with Comfort Temp.
