Quality Manager & Lead Auditor (Metal Plating Company)
Our client, a leading provider of electroless nickel plating solutions with over 120 years of industry experience is seeking an experienced Quality Manager - Lead Auditor to oversee quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. This role will lead the Quality Management System (QMS), ensure AS9100 compliance, drive internal auditing efforts, and partner with leadership to maintain the highest standards of product quality and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead quality and compliance operations throughout the organization
• Manage and maintain the AS9100-compliant Quality Management System (QMS)
• Serve as the QM Representative and report quality metrics to executive leadership
• Develop and implement quality policies, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain corrective action plans, risk assessments, and quality documentation
• Conduct & oversee internal audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 & customer requirements
• Prepare quality reports and compliance updates for executive review
• Evaluate supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with applicable standards
• Address customer quality concerns and coordinate improvement efforts with internal teams
• Lead employee training on quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all departments
• Support product quality initiatives through testing, inspection, and process validation activities
Education Requirement.
• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Chemistry, or a related field
Required Experience
• Minimum 5 years of quality management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Previous experience leading internal audits and compliance programs.
• Experience analyzing quality data and implementing corrective actions.
• Wet chemistry laboratory experience.
Preferred Experience & Skills
• Experience in plating processes
• NADCAP experience
• Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of quality control techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability and willingness to learn and utilize X-ray inspection, beta backscatter, adhesion testing, thickness testing, and other quality verification methods.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with quality data analysis tools and reporting systems.
